First Marking Period

  • Literary Magazine Requirements / timetable / choice of positions and responsibilities
  • Sales / Patron Campaign

  • Development of writings for the literary magazine (four finished products per term are required as well as numerous rough drafts of the submitted writings)
  • Critiques and revisions for literary magazine
  • Development of first layout spread with art/ photographs and text
 

Second Marking Period

  • Writer's Workshop: critiques and revisions for the literary magazine
  • Development of writings for the literary magazine (four finished products per term are required as well as numerous rough drafts of the submitted writings)
  • Development of second double-page spread 

Third Marking Period

  • Match art/pictures for literary magazine
  • Check style sheet for the literary magazine
  • Refine artwork in PhotoShop
  • Save all finished files to CD
  • Finalize bids with printers/ make arrangements with printer for publication
  • Edit and proofread!
  • Set up procedures for sales

Fourth Marking Period

  • Submit to publisher
  • Receive Magazing back from publisher
  • Sales of magazine
  • Assessment of the 2006-2007 Ursa Major
  • Submit Literary Magazine for evaluation
  • Develop action plan for next year's magazine and choose staff members
  • Publication Party
