1. Build a model of a castle.
2. Stage a medieval wedding, including a narrator to explain why things are happening.(This could also be videotaped for viewing.)
3.Stage a medieval meal with real examples of some of the food that might have been served.
4. Explain some of the entertainment that people of the middle ages enjoyed. Make and explain some of the board games that were played.
5. Discuss the Crusades--Why they took place, where, and over what time period. Include a detailed map showing the routes that were taken to reach the Holy Land.
6. Discuss the three different types of social classes in the Middle Ages with an example of each dressed in authentic clothes describing a typical day in their lives.
7. Discuss the Code of Chivalry, what it was, where it originated, and why it came about. Create a replica of a knight's armor and explain how combat was done between knights.
8. Describe the different roles of women in the Middle Ages and create replicas of their different types of dress.
9. Chose at least two legends that came from the Middle Ages and illustrate them for presentation to the class.
10. Explain the habits and customs of the people of the Middle Ages, particularly in reference to sanitary conditions, health, and cleanliness. Discuss the Bubonic Plague and how it affected the population of Europe. Illustrate conditions that were common during that time.
