Write the past tense of the verb in each sentence. Yes, you have to locate the verb yourself!

 

1. Authors write tall tales about animals as well as people.

2. Some legendary animals eat enormous amounts of food.

3. Others do amazing stunts.

4. Some ride with the speed of the wind.

5. Other imaginary animals grow to an enormous size.

6. Writers told about horses that fly. (Use the verb <I>to fly</I> in this sentence.)

7. I never see a flying horse myself.

8. Pecos Bill give(s) his horse the name Widow Maker.

9. His horse run(s) like streaked lightning.

10. Still, Widow Maker come(s) when Bill called to him.
