Character Sketch Dion Do you have somebody that always has your back? My friend Dion is always there for me when I am in trouble. I remember when I had been summoned to the office. Dion was there. The principal looked very agitated. He asked me one question, “Were you involved in this razor blade incident.” I was, but Dion said I had nothing to do with it. I might not have experienced too much trouble, but Dion bailed me out big time. This is not the first time either. Dion is a funny looking character. He is also a funny person. He’s about five feet tall, and eighty-five pounds. Dion is very funny, though. I recall a time outside when we had nothing to do. We were just sitting on the ground for about ten minutes. Then Dion comes out of nowhere and says” This one time at band camp, I saw this mushroom talking to this daisy, and the mushroom asked her out and got turned down. So the mushroom said but I’m a fun guy”. Everybody busted out laughing. Then he said “come on you bums get off your buts and play ball”. It made the day so much more fun to be outside. Dion is very athletic. We always play football with people in the neighborhood. I remember a game we played. We were down by one. Next point wins though. I threw a pass to Dion. He ran fast as lightning. The opponents were going to tackle him. One of them dove and Dion just jumped over him into the touchdown. It was so amazing. Dion is a very brave person. I recall walking home from school when we heard a large bark. We ignored it for a while, but it got increasingly annoying. I suddenly yelled, ”Shut up!” Suddenly a humongous dog came and tried to chase us we ran for a while, but then Dion stopped. The dog barked. He barked a ferocious bark right back. The dog squealed and ran away. I was still shaking from the shock. Dion just looked at me and said, “Well, that takes care of that.” I just busted out laughing. Dion is important to me because he is a good friend, he is funny, energetic, and best of all, he is cool. He will never hang me out to dry. I never doubt him having my back. Sometimes my day changes, but the main things I do are my homework, play football, and go to school. I like football the most because of the action. I just enjoy the contact. It’s my passion and I think it runs in the family. School is the most important thing right now, though. If I don’t get my homework done there, won’t be any football, and there will be a few more major consequences. I’m going to love coming home off the bus this year. Some of the high points in my life are I’m on a good football team, I have great teachers, and even better parents. The low points are its going to be hard to start on a football team as good as we are, moving to a new school, and making new friends. I will try my best to keep all of the high points high, and make all of the low points high points. (Especially to impress the teaching staff.) Some of my goals this year are to get straight “A’s’, make the school basketball team, and win the Pop Warner Super Bowl with my football team. I will have to do all of my work to get straight “A’s’, or even play a sport. School comes first. It should be easy for me to make the school basketball team. There is not that much competition for me, though. However, in football it’s going to be a hard journey. There are hundreds of great teams out there. We will have to work hard, but we will always have fun. Remember, it is all about me!
