Page 1: Fall Character Sketch James “Bear” Parker Everyone has in their life has had a special someone that they will always love no matter what. James “Bear” Parker was one of my best friends that I really loved and cared for. I could tell him everything and could ask him for advice when I needed it. He was like the big brother I always wanted. Since he went away, I have feel left out on everything. Who would have known it would end up like this. Seventeen-year-old Bear, was a very slim and muscular guy. He was five-eight, with brown eyes and brown hair. He loved spending time with his mom. He also liked making up freestyle raps and playing sports especially football. I had met him when my friend, Joey, introduced him to me. The first thing I noticed in him was that he was very crazy. I saw him jumping up and down saying, “What is up my homie.” A year later, I had found out that Joey was carrying a gun that was loaded. I remember saying to Bear, “Be careful when you are around Joey.” He knew that Joey had the gun, but he did not listen to me. Joey and Bear were at a party celebrating the championship for the football game. They got drunk, and Joey pulled out the gun to show it off to Bear. He guessed that it had not contained any bullets. Unfortunately, it did and Joey shot it at Bear hitting him, and killing him. He was a very smart and intelligent young boy. He would usually get “A’s”, “B’s”, and “C’s” on his report cards. He loved to help me with my homework and teach me new things I would learn later in school. I remember this one time when I did not understand my math homework at all because I was not paying attention in class so Bear taught me how do it. Bear was also a very athletic person. He was the quarterback of C.D Hylton High School’s football team. He helped them go to the championships. I would always help Bear practice before a game, or we would just play around for fun. After football season was over, he would start training for track. He loved doing any kinds of sport as long as it was an active game. I love him even thought he is not here with us any more. I was in shocked when I found out he had died. Now, I all I can do now is think about him and how we used to talk to each other. Now, when I need advice I try to think like Bear. Even though he is not here with me any more I know, he is up and alive in my heart. All About Me Everyday people have to do activities they like to do or do not like to do. Everyday I like hanging out with my friends. We walk and talk about anything that is happening in life. I love to go online and IM my friends and, I like to surf the web. What I don’t like to do everyday is take care of my little brother, and doing chores. Everyone at some point has high points as well as the low points. One of the low points I have had in my life was when my mother had to go to the hospital. When she was pregnant of my little brother, she had high blood pressure. She had a very strong pain n her stomach, which sometimes made her cry. Another low point I have had was when my dad lost his thumb with a woodcutter. The last low point I have had was when one of my closest friends James “Bear” Parker died, and I couldn’t go to his funeral. My first high point in my life is everytime I get perfectly shaped, non-scuffed shoes. When I get very good grades in my report card I get happy and get money. The last happy thing I am going to list is when my little brother was born, because I was sick of being the baby of the family. You all read that I had bad times as much as I had good I hope you enjoyed it! Everyone has dreams and goals in their life that they want to accomplish. My dream is to become a great wife and mother. I would like to go to Hampton or University of Virginia to study law and then become a sucesseful lawyer and get big bucks. My goal this year is to try to not get a detention for the whole school year. Trying to get “A's” and “B's” this year is another one of my goals. Those were my goals and dreams for this year.
