Fall

Donnell Nixon 9/14/04 pd.1

Have you ever had someone who was always there for you and all of a sudden died? My grandfather was a loving and caring person all his life. I never thought that he would die so soon. I lived with him and my grandmother every since my parents got divorced when I was two years old. He worked for an asphalt company in Baltimore, Maryland. Everyday I would sit and wait for him to come home, so I can tell him about my day. Whenever I had a problem he would always give me good advice such as, “Never give up, and tried your best at everything.” That message helped me succeed in what I do. It also helped me win a college scholarship in fifth grade, and helped me win ten academic trophies at my fifth grade graduation.

My grandfather was the trustworthiest person I ever knew. I could tell him anything. I remember one time in sixth grade, when I lost my money for my vocabulary book, he kept it between me and him. Whenever I asked him for a favor, he would never get mad. That shows me that he is a caring person.

My grandfather was a fun person to be with. One thing he enjoyed was talking and laughing. Another thing he enjoyed was cooking and making his secret barbeque sauce. A hobby we did together was, constructing our model train sets that he saved for me every since I was born. An activity that he did with his family is traveling and visiting.

The strongest person I knew was my grandfather. In his old age, he was able to lift very heavy things. One amazing thing I saw him do was move around big furniture when cleaning the house. He was also strong when it came to being sick. He would always be optimistic. When I get sick I try to be as optimistic as him.

My grandfather was a very important person in my life. If something is wrong, I could always talk to him. I lived with him for a long time. I was very upset when he died on the last day of school, June 18, 2004.

/16/04 Period 1

All about Me At 6:00 a.m. I get up to get ready for school. First, I get washed up and get dressed for ten minutes. Then, I eat breakfast for five minutes. Then, I watch television until 7:23. Then, I leave for school. The bus comes at 7:49. When I get to school, I go through all seven class periods. Then, I go home. For the rest of the time until bedtime I do homework, eat, go outside, play video games, and go online.

End of the summer is a high and low point for me always. A low point I had was giving away my dog, but the lowest point of all was the death of my grandfather. Even my first detention was a low point. My highest point was winning a college scholarship in the fifth grade. The second highest was moving to Virginia to a house with a built in pool. The most recent high point was going to the seventh grade.

My goal for the seventh grade is to make the basketball team. The most important goal is to get more A's this year in the seventh grade. I also want to increase my typing speed from thirty words per minute to sixty words per minute. I also want to read more books. Another goal is to try my best at everything I do.
