Character Sketch My Aunt Lydia Has anyone ever always been there for you, to cheer you up, to act completely crazy, and make you so happy that it feels like nothing could possibly go wrong? Is there someone out there who will love you no matter what you do? My person is fourteen hours away by car now. She cannot be with me every day, but she will still be there for me. My Aunt Lydia is one of the bravest people I know. She will go up to anyone and tell them they are wrong if she hears something that is not right. One time, someone we knew started saying something bad about a family member. She went up to him, stared him straight in the eyes, and told him that what he said was not right. She came back, brown eyes sparkling like diamonds, and red hair gleaming in the sun. My aunt usually smiles, but she came back with a smile that went from ear to ear. She was full of content with the fact that that she proved him wrong. You never have to worry about someone insulting you and getting away with it in my family. Being crazy is what my aunt does best. One summer, we went camping almost every other weekend. Every campsite we went to, we got kicked out of. My aunt would play music past 7:00, which was when you were supposed to turn off music, and attracted people to come visit us. At one campsite, a paid D.J. was attracting less people than we were. At another campsite, people came over because the food smelled really good. They had never tried the kind of food we made and loved it. They tried to pay us back with drinks. Family and friends would gather around the campfire and tell jokes and stories. We were always busy doing something with my crazy Aunt Lydia. My aunt loves to entertain us and never fails. Every time we go to her house, she always has food ready and some music playing. We have tons of fun just messing around with each other and doing nothing. One time when we went to New York to visit, she had more than enough planned to keep us busy. She had our favorite rice and chicken warm and cooked on the stove, accompanied with some tamales. The next day we went into the city and whatever I wanted, I got. She took us to many different sights and saw beautiful Christmas displays in all of the windows. Macy’s windows had the most wonderful things you have ever seen! We are always entertained when she is around. My Aunt Lydia is special to me because she can stand up to anyone when what they say does not sound right to her. She has taught me to be much more courageous than I used to be. If someone says something about me or any of my family, she will go up to them and tell them that it is not right, no matter who it is. She has always been my favorite aunt, and I do not think anything anyone does or says can ever change that. All About Me I do many different activities every day. I go outside and ride either my bike or my scooter, after I finish my homework. My block almost always has an active game going on or starting, like soccer. Other times, I will go outside and play basketball with friends who are also outside. On weekends and sometimes weekdays, I will go to the mall and just be with my friends or over to a friend’s house. Plenty of experiences have come across my path, both good and bad. My grandmother died when I was really little, and I never got to meet her. I left my hometown in New York around when I was five. Everything I knew and loved was there, and everything in my life changed after that. Around when I was two, I learned the alphabet and was able to recite it to all my family in South America. Later, I learned how to ride a bike with two wheels. It wasn’t too hard, but when I rode on my own for the first time, I was really, incredibly happy. Then, in third grade, I got straight “A’s” for the first time. My family was overjoyed. Various dreams and goals run through my mind. A goal for the 2004-2005 school year is to get good grades. For a while, a dream of mine has been to go to college and get a masters degree. With that degree, I’m dreaming of becoming a lawyer because I enjoy arguing, and I am good at it. Another dream of mine is to be a part of an investigation team and help solve murder mysteries and matters pertaining to that. ![]() Page 1: Fall Page 2: Winter Page 3: Research Paper Page 4: Spring Page 5: End-Of-Year Reflections | |
