All About Me

Everyday, when I get up at 5:30, I go downstairs, and I have to let my dog, Max, outside and feed him. We have to feed him two times a day, morning and evening. On the weekends, we take Max for a walk because we’re too busy during the week because of school, and my parents have to work. We have to brush him on the weekends because he sheds a great deal.

Every Sunday, I go horseback riding at Woodlawn Stables. The property is on the land that George Washington used to own because it’s right by Mount Vernon. I’ve been riding horses for three years, now. I’ve been in a horseshow. I won four ribbons-two forth place and two fifth place ribbons. On Saturdays, my family and I try to make it to church. We go to St. Francis of Assai church down by Quantico.

When I was seven in Germany, my mom didn’t work so she got lonely at home and needed something to keep her busy and happy. So she asked my dad if we could get a dog. My dad looked in the paper and he saw that there were some Golden Retriever puppies that were for sale. When the puppies came out, my dad told my brother and me to go get a puppy of our own. So, I got a puppy named Boomerang because he had a boomerang-shaped crest on his chest, and my brother picked Lightening because he was very athletic. However, my dad said that we could only have one dog. So one day, my mom had a puppy in her arms and his name was Teddy because he had a chubby face that made him look like a teddy bear. My mom got him, and we named King Maximillion the Great but for short we call him Max. We’ve had him for five years now.

Some bad things that happened to me were when I got bad grades and I was yelled at because of them. However, I picked myself up again and did much better. I also am yelled at for other reasons but I try to correct them, and I do most of the time. Sometimes I don’t.

My biggest goal is to get a high paying career. Not a normal high, but higher than the men get because some women have more important jobs than the men, but they still get paid more. I won’t settle for less, but I’ll settle for more. I want to be an explorer when I get older and go in the Amazon and Africa and other places. I also want to write a book about all my adventures and a biography about me.

My Dad

I could never imagine losing my dad, and if I did, I would be so devastated. My dad is one of the most important person in my life. He is so important person to me because he teaches me right from wrong and the values of life because when he was a kid he had problems just as I do. Words of wisdom that my dad tells my brother and me are “body, mind, and soul.” Those are three important words he tells my brother and me. Body stands for you exercise and you eat right, mind is you get a good education, and soul is you try and go to church and pray when ever you get a chance.

My dad can be funny, at times, but most of the time, he is serious. When my dad was very young, on Easter, he had a chocolate bunny in his Easter basket. My dad has two younger brothers so he did not want them to take his chocolate bunny, so he hid it under his bed. However, his dog went under the bed and ate the chocolate bunny. Since dog cannot have chocolate, he through up all over the floor! My dad did not have a very good Easter because he did not have a chocolate bunny, and he had to clean up dog through up. My dad has short blonde hair, but it probably was not always like that. In high school, he had a full head of hair. When he joined the military, he had to cut it shorter. I think from that point on, it started to go away. So then, we start to make fun of him because his hair is going away, but he is a good sport. When my dad jokes with me I start to get defensive because his “jokes” sound like that he really means it. Then you get used to it after a while.

My dad can be so persistent sometimes that it just bothers me so much. In school, I try my best, but he wants me to have to have “A’s” in every class. My brother and I get loads of pressure because of it. My dad says, “ No “Fs” or “Ds”, but if you got a “C” and you tried your best than that’s fine. In sports, my dad does not want my brother and I to quit. When I was trying out for the school soccer team last year and I did not make the team. I had wanted to stop playing soccer all together because I did not make the team. My dad said, “Sometimes you won’t make it and that’s why you get better at it so you could try again next year.” When I do horse riding he says to me that I have to give all I have. Sometimes, when my dad invites people over and they come to watch, I get nervous. Sometimes, I do worse than usual.

My dad is like the history whiz of the family and all of the other subjects! On homework I go to my mom, but then if she does not understand it than she will say, “Go ask your father.” My dad reads a great deal of books like political, military, and he has some comic book and not the kind that has forty-five pages his books have like one-hundred pages. My dad was a straight “A” student when he took some collage courses a few years ago. He is in the army and did not have enough time before. One time, on my way home from horse riding, we were listening to talk radio, and they were talking about the stock market. I ask a few questions about it. Then all of a sudden, he started confusing me with all of these confusing words. All I could do was nod my head and say, “Yea, right, nod uh huh.” That is ok, though, because someday I will understand.

The reason why I wrote about my dad and not my mom is my dad is going to be promoted to a Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4) and wanted to write about him. To appreciate him more than ever before and to show him that I care. He is my role model but not only that, he is my best friend. I will love him forever and ever.
