My Fantasy Room

Have you ever imagined entering a magical cave full of wonders? Now, imagine this cave being your bedroom. Suppose it was filled with everything you could ever want? Welcome to my fantasy room! There are many wonders to see in my fantasy room.

I built my room out of a cavern. All the walls are made of stone. The entrance wall has a dark brown door that is rounded at the top. On either side of the door, there are two massive bookshelves full of books that I like to read. Above the door hands a horseshoe with the ends pointed up.

As you walk clockwise around the room, this is the left wall. There is a door on the left side of the wall. It is glued to the wall. Beside the fake door is a chest o' drawers for my clothes. There is a big mirror above the chest o' drawers.

Continue going clockwise around the room. This is my favorite wall. It is not really a wall. It is really a home theater system, complete with a giant wide-screen television, surround sound, and only one remote control! Beneath the screen is a chest of drawers containing an X Box, Game Cube, PlayStation II, Nintendo 64, and a whole library of games.

Next comes where I sleep. There is a bunk bed against the wall. There is a little window right above the bed. There is a spiral staircase leading up to the top bunk. That is my bed. I like my room because it has a pleasant ambience. Attached to the staircase is an air freshener that gives a pleasant scent of cinnamon to the room, especially when company comes over!

The middle of the room is what I like to call "the room itself." The ceiling is dome-shaped and made of natural limestone. There is a small sunroof at the top of the dome and some electric torches for lighting. The floor is carpeted with white carpet, except for a giant circular wooden spot in the middle of the room. If you know the right command in Morse code, the circle will open up into a Jacuzzi, complete with towels and bubbles! If you want to invite friends over to play video games, there are four beanbags in the floor.

I have lots of good reasons to spend time in my own room. I can read, watch, or listen to anything I want. When I think school is getting boring, my room gives me something to look forward to. Thank you for spending some time reading about my fantasy room. Permission to copy my model is granted! The pleasant cinnamon smell, however, is patented.

Miss Daisy

By Caleb Stroud

Miss Daisy was a widow in the story Driving Miss Daisy. She was a very independent woman who felt like she had to have control over every part of her life. She did not want to give up driving, even though the insurance company did not want to cover her anymore. Her son hired a chauffer for her named Hoke, but she did not like the idea of having him. She had to have control over everything. She kept the map in the back seat with her. When he took her places, she wanted to have the car keys with her. On a trip, when Hoke needed to use the bathroom, he got out of the car, taking the keys with him. It made her feel scared to be alone. She saw that always having to be in control made her feel lonely. She started to realize that she needed Hoke?as a friend. It was not as bad as she thought to have to depend on a friend. She even found that she could relate to Hoke (who was African American), because she was also from a minority; she was Jewish. She lived a very long life, and Hoke was still glad to help take care of her to the very end. Miss Daisy realized that she did not have to be so independent in order to be happy. She became a better person because she let Hoke into her life.
