DRIVING MISS DAISY

Three ideas that have to do with change over time in the story Driving Miss Daisy are how Daisy and Hoke change over time, how daisy loses her independence, and how Hoke starts to stand up for himself. My thesis statement is that there are numerous examples of change in the drama Driving Miss Daisy. One example of change is change that that is linked to time over time. One example of change that is linked to time is how Miss Daisy and Hoke change over time. In the beginning of the story, Miss Daisy doesn’t necessarily hate Hoke, but she really resents him being there. But as time progresses into the second part of the story, she starts to act nicer and a little kinder to him but she still doesn’t treat with all of the respect of a normal person. In the third part of the story, she really starts to treat him as her best friend.

My second idea is how Miss Daisy losses her independence. One of the first things that she loses is the right to drive. Since she can’t drive, Daisy’s son hires Hoke to drive her to the different places that she needs to go to. Since she can’t do all that she used to, she starts to resent other people.

My third idea is how Hoke starts to stand up for himself. Miss daisy wants to go visit her very old relative who is having a birth - day party in Mobile. On the way there Hoke tells Miss Daisy that he needs to pull over and use the restroom. Miss Daisy sternly refuses and tells him to keep on driving. Hoke tells her that he isn’t some sort of dog that she can order around. He also tells her that when he has to go, he has to go. These are three ideas that have to do with change that occurs over time in the story/drama Driving Miss Daisy. The ideas were how Daisy and Hoke change over time during the story and how Daisy losses her independence. One other is how Hoke starts to stand up for himself.

MY FANTASY ROOM

The first thing that you might see when you walk into my room would be a nice black couch that turns into a bed. As you start to walk into my room you would see that on your fat left there is a large a large popcorn maker. In the corner across from the popcorn maker there is a couple of arcade games featuring Metal Slug, Tekken, and Area 51.Abuot in the center of the room, there is a small pool. Right beside the couch there is a Lay Z Boy recliner. In between the couch there is a small table to put drinks, magazines, and pieces of paper with different cheat codes on them. To the left of the couch there is a soda machine. Beside the soda machine there is a small refrigerator/freezer to hold extra drinks and ice cream. In front of the couch there is a large flat screen TV Hooked up to the TV there is an X BOX, PLAYSTATION, PLAYSTATION 2, Nintendo 64, and a Game Cube. Also I will have Comcast Digital cable, a VCR, and a DVD. This is what I would want my fantasy room to be like.
