In the play Driving Miss Daisy, there are many examples of random change. Four major events that support this idea would be when Hoke learns to read, Hoke and Daisy's friendship, Idella's death, and when Daisy loses her sanity. No one ever expected any of these things to happen, but they did. In the beginning of the play/movie Driving Miss Daisy, Hoke and Daisy didn't get along so well. They would fuss and argue all day long. But fortunately, as the story progressed their dislike of each other started to fade. I think that they realized that they were going to be around each other quite often, so they decided to make the best of it. But in the end nobody really expected for them to turn out to be best friends. Other examples would be Idella's death and the fact that Daisy backed the car into a neighbor's yard. Idella's death was very quick, she was just sitting down seperating peas for that night's dinner when all of a sudden she just died. Then in the case of Daisy's little accident, she was just pulling out of the rdiveway as usual to go to the Piggly Wiggly, she accidently forgot to take her foot off the break petal and ran into the next backyard. There are a few more examples of random change. One of these examples would be when the temple was bombed. Hoke was just driving Daisy along when they got stuck in traffic and Daisy asked Hoke if he knew why there was so much traffic. Then after about ten seconds he told her that the temple had been bombed. This was a tragic random change because no one saw it coming but the bombers themselves. ![]() Webfolio 1-Fall Webfolio 2-Winter Research Paper Webfolio 3- Spring Year-End Reflections | |
