Flag burning is a subject many people have confused and opinionated thought about. I think that flag burning should not be allowed in our country. Yes, many people could say it is protected by the first Amendment, but I beg to differ.
People who burn our country's flag have no respect for our country or the men and women who died for it. Constitutionally, flag burning would be our freedom of speech. I also agree to that. I think that people should take into consideration what burning the flag really means.
I think that the flag can only burned with permission of three sponsors’ (Geocities.com). Permission should come form a war veteran because he gave up his life for his country and survived. He watched his friends die or get injured. Ask him to burn the flag he sacrificed his life for. The reason an immigrant should be a sponsor is that they went through a lot. They spent money and their life on getting to America. They spend every day learning our government, our language, and spend every day respecting America. Ask an immigrant who spent their life getting here to burn our flag. Lastly, ask a mother of a person who died for our country. Ask them to burn or spit on our flag. The flag their children fought for. See how they feel about it. If a person asked all three sponsors and they said "yes" only then could they burn our flag.
Especially know should nobody burn America's flag. Our flag is the symbol our country and our love. Burning the flag while we, as a country should stand together during this time of sorrow is very cruel. By burning the flag we are also showing other countries our weakness. We should be an example to countries, not discourage. I believe by burning the flag we are showing terrorists that we give in. That our country will die because of what they did to us. We should honor our flag
more than ever.
I conclude that there should be a responsibility of all Americans, not an Amendment, to respect our flag with love. Many attempts have been made by Congress to pass a constitutional amendment authorizing punishment for flag
burning, but the vote cut short of the two-thirds support of the senate (Adkins). I think that action should be taken to fix our national problem.

Kidnapped by Aliens
I was in my bed and looking out the window when I heard a faint noise. It was the middle of the night and I couldn't sleep. The noise gave me the creeps and reminded me of the scary movie about aliens that I had just saw. As I was freaking out, thinking there was a burglar; I saw a flash of light outside. At this, I
went to my window and saw nothing. Now, at this point I was fighting between my fear and my curiosity. Like many people, my curiosity got the better of me, and I knew I would probably pay for it later. I tiptoed down to the kitchen and saw for flashes of light, but no sounds. I went outside and felt an unnatural breeze, like from a helicopter or something. The light and the breeze seem to be coming from in the woods. I walked through the woods and heard something that sounded
like a faint clicking. I saw a spaceship on the ground and was stuck to the ground with amazement. I slowly turned around, hoping no one or nothing saw me. I felt a tap on my shoulder and was freaked out by what I saw. The thing was dragging
me to its spaceship. Everything happened so quickly, that I fainted. I woke up in my bed with a startle. I said "Oh me god as I woke up." I thought that I must have dozed off and had had a nightmare. That was when I made a pact with myself not to ever watch scary alien movies again. I looked around my room glad that I was dreaming. However, the dream gave me a kind of dejavu. All of the sudden I heard a raspy voice out of the dark say "Hello, its nice to see you again."

Being
twelve is like having a diamond inside you because it's a "shining"
and brilliant time/part of our lives. It's like a diamond is inside you and its
"shining" and "Luminous," and "Glittering inside you.
And it shines out, making thirteen a brilliant time in our lives. Being
thirteen is like having a diamond in you also because you feel special and
wonderful. Being thirteen is great, just like a diamond.
Ode To My True
Friend
by Elizabeth Pinard
The day I met you
I found a friend -
And a friendship that
I pray will never end.
Your smile - so sweet
And so bright -
Kept me going
When day was as dark as night.
You never ever judged me,
You understood my sorrow.
Then you told me it needn't be that way
And gave me the hope of a better tomorrow.
You were always there for me,
I knew I could count on you.
You gave me advice and encouragement
Whenever I didn't know what to do.
You helped me learn to love myself
You made life seem so good.
You said I can do anything I put my mind to
And suddenly I knew I could.
There were times when we didn't see eye to eye
And there were days when both of us cried.
But even so we made it through:
Our friendship hasn't yet died.
Circumstances have pulled us apart;
We are separated by many miles.
Truly, the only thing that keeps me going
Is my treasured memory of your smile.
This friendship we share
Is so precious to me,
I hope it grows and flourishes
And lasts unto infinity.
You are so extra-special to me
And so this to you I really must tell:
You are my one true friend, My Guardian Angel.
Our friendship
is one-in-a-million
So let's hold on to it and each other.
We cannot let this chance of pure bliss fly away
For there will never be another.

Always
by
Elizabeth Pinard
When you need a shoulder to cry on,
Remember that I have a warm embrace,
Ready to offer comfort.
When you think I'm being too tough,
Remember that which does not kill you
Makes you stronger.
When you need a friend to listen,
Remember that I am here for you,
Always.
When you doubt me,
Remember that I once knelt at your feet,
Washing them in service to you.

Can I Call You Angel?
by Erin Sheets
![]()
The snow fell, leaving a halo of white upon your head,
and that's when I said,
"Can I call you Angel?"
You looked at me with surprise,
but I could see it in your eyes,
and I knew.
As you sang silent night,
your beautiful voice put me at ease,
and I asked please,
"Can I call you Angel?"
A smile came to your face with serenity and grace,
but you said not a word.
In my darkest hours you held my hand,
never leaving my side, and I said, while I cried,
"Can I call you Angel? "
You then began to wipe the tears away
and erase all the gray in my life.
You led me down a path of gold,
telling me of the creator above,
and again I asked with a greater love,
"Can I call you Angel?"
You never answered my plea,
so I fell to my knee in prayer. As I opened my eyes, I could see you before me;
Your wings spread and a golden halo upon your head
and one last time I said,
"friend, can I call you Angel?"

On The Wings of A Butterfly
by Corky Ferguson
![]() |
Your friendship is special
Like the flowers that bloom,
Or when a butterfly emerges
From within its cocoon...
You remind me of that butterfly,
Loving and free,
Bright and colorful,
For the world to see...
We will share sunshine and rainbows;
Sometimes, the rain and the snow;
We'll stand together through it,
While the cold winds blow...
When the time is right,
We won't stop to ask "Why?"
Our friendship will take flight
On the wings of a butterfly…
Friends Forever
by Sam Smith
A sing is a song that
has no end,
and that's how long I will be your
friend;
Well have our fights and shed our
tears,
but we'll be friends for years and
years
