Kidnapped By Aliens
Bring Bring "All right, tonight for homework
pages 437-438, problems 1-45. Oh, and remember to
study for tomorrow's quiz on chapter 23. I'll see
you guys tomorrow." "That class is such a bore!
Drake and I are the only ones who seem to under
stand it, maybe that’s because the rest of the
class are complete idiots. " Hey Drake wait up "
"What's up my main man Bob?" "Nothing much, but
uh hey do you want to go skating?" "Sure man,
I'll meet you at the park in an hour." "Ok man,
the only thing that could keep me from coming is
if I get captured by aliens." "Like that will ever
happen." I was not expecting that these words
would become a complete prophecy of what would
happen to me in a few short minutes. Anyway way, I
was walking home and turned the corner to my large
house a couple of blocks away, as I entered I saw
my little bro listening to Linkin Park and playing
computer games. "Hey Tim, could you turn that
down?" I thought I listened to my music loud.
"What do you want, can't you see him playing a
game?" My brother's funny, all he cares about is
his video games. So I grab my skateboard and head
out the door. I notice a strange green light
above me … "What the Devillllllllllllllllll." A
few hours later I wake up inside a strange little
ship. I hear some voices. "HJKDHJIKE GFGA YRTA
HUMAN ." "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH who the heck are you
guys?????" "We are aliens from the planet
SASGDFGDGHGHH. We are here to run tests on an
average human." Hold on buddy, I'm not an average
human. I AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH……." "Quick plug
him up before he wakes up. Oh no he woke up!!!! "
" What the devil are you guys doing to me stop
it!!!!!!! " "We are running tests, now this will
only hurt for a little bit"
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH……………
………… That’s all I remember of those aliens

VICTORIAN
CHRISTMAS
COMPARISON
Were Victorian Christmases better than modern day
Christmases? Many people think that modern
Christmases are better than Victorian Christmases
because of the new and better technology that we
have. A modern day Christmas includes hundreds of
thousands of flashing, dazzling, bright Christmas
lights, waving Santas, and snowball throwing
snowmen. When people look back to what it must
have been like in the Victorian age they think to
themselves, do I want a little wooden pull toy
that my father spent hours and hours making or do
I want the newest and the greatest video game
system? Most people would want the new video
game, I sure would, but if I did open up a
handmade toy from my father I would also be very
grateful. Yes, it would not be as "cool" as the
new video game system, but it would have come from
the heart and would be more special. I think that
Victorian Christmases were celebrated better than
modern day Christmases because the people of
Victorian times knew the true meaning of Christmas
by focusing on love, caring and religion during
Christmas time.
Today most kids expect lots and lots of presents,
and do not care how much they cost. In Victorian
times, a child would receive fewer presents.
Today most people go off to a store and grab
things off the shelves that are on their family's
Christmas list. A child may get lots of presents,
but how special are they? A Victorian child would
receive a few special presents from Mom and Dad.
They were home made and designed for each child.
An example of some Victorian presents are a wooden
train made by the father or a windup toy solider.
The mother would make a doll, a book, or clothes
for the family.
Music too has changed over the years. In
Victorian times religious carols were sung, now we
have "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". We all
laugh in Grandma's face when the song is playing,
but does it have true meaning for Christmas. A
Victorian carol such as "What Child Is This" has
more meaning than "Rocking Round the Christmas
Tree". Some examples of Victorian Christmas
carols are: "O Come All Ye Faithful", "Deck the
Halls", and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". Some
modern Christmas carols are: "Jingle Bell Rock:,
'Rocking Round the Christmas Tree", and "Frosty
the Snowman". We laugh and sing these carols, but
they do not have the same meaning as the
Victorian Christmas carols. They do not include
the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Christ
and giving from the heart.
Decorations have changed a lot over the years
too. In Victorian times decorations were a lot
simpler. Victorians would have live Christmas
trees and would put real candles on the branches
and light them on Christmas Day. They would also
make wreaths out of real greenery and put
pinecones on them. The Victorians would use fruit
to decorate and they would make Christmas
ornaments out of a cone shaped paper filled with
dried flowers. They also made ornaments from
ribbon and lace. Today many people have
artificial trees with blinking lights and plastic
Christmas ornaments that light up. Today you can
buy projectors that project Santa and snowmen on
the sides of your house. The decorations of today
are really cool, but they are not as meaning full
as the Victorian decorations, which were often
made by the family.
To me a Victorian Christmas was a time for
caring, celebrating religion, and giving gifts
that came from the heart. This was shown by the
gifts that were made, the carols that were sung,
and the decorations that were homemade. I feel
that Christmas celebrated in Dickens's time was
more meaningful than today!
Chief Joseph Questions

My opinion is that Chief Joseph was a great man. He led an Indian
tribe called the Nez Perces
(this was a name the French gave them because they wore nose rings)
after his father died. I
think that this message means that the Nez Perces were a great tribe
and they were ready to
change with new white explorers and traders. The first white
explorers (Lewis and Clarke)
treated them with the greatest respect, so did the first French fir
traders. The Nez Perces
welcomed the first explorers and traders. The Nez Perces treated the
white people with respect
and became their friends. They were not yet ready for the white
settlers that took more and
more of their land.
