Poetry!!!

Haiku:

Fire burned the woods.

Animals ran from the fire.

Water put it out.

Tanka:

It was cold outside.

Snow and hail was falling

The pond was frozen.

The children went inside.

It was winter wonderland.

Cinquains:

Icy

Very cold, freezing

Freezing, chilling, melting

Freezing everything it can see

Chilly

Quatrains:

Water falling on the ground

Kids turning round and round.

Lightning comes with bright light.

Thunder scares kids with fright.

Class Work!!!

Cutting a diamond is the same as going to school. I think that is true because

when you are cutting, you are making it change. The way you can

compare that and school is that when you go to school, you are changing in a lot

of ways. You change by having more friends, getting smarter, and getting older.

Those are three of the many ways you change in school. An easier way of saying this is you

change just like a diamond.

I think Chief Joseph was saying was that the people that came to their land took advantage of

what they had, and that they betrayed them. The white men should of done what they did and

Joseph's people where mad about what they did. I think in his speech, he said that his people

were regular human beings and not some crazy people. He wanted to make peace with the

white men, but they made it very hard. He was a person who would get yelled out, but would

easily forget about it. If he could get the white men to make peace with them, he, and his

people, would be happy.

Joseph's a good change agent because he helps other people's problems. When he, and his

people, wanted the white men to respect him, he did something about it instead of sitting there,

hoping the problem would go away. He made the speech and was hoping that the white men

would respect his people.

If I could ask Joseph a question, I would ask him, were you scared to give this speech and lead

this protest. I would also ask him what would he do if the white men would try and attack him

while he was protesting. Those are the only questions I would ask him. I think Joseph was a

brave and strong man.

Kidnapped by Aliens

One day I was playing in my backyard, under the tree. It was a cloudy and rainy day, so I went

under there to take shelter. While under there, I look for things to do. I went into a hole at the

bottom of the cave, and was dry there. I took out my lunch, which happen to be some cereal.

While eating it out of the box (because I had no bowl), I saw a squirrel. I decided to be friendly

and give it some. It eagerly ate it, and then they went closer to me. I then notice two more

squirrels, and then some more. Things were getting creepy.

The squirrels were approaching, so I through my cereal box at them hoping to distract them so I

could get out. The ended up eating the whole box in a second. I was trapped. They bit my shirt

and dragged me up the tree. I tried to scream for help, but I was hit with an acorn and fell

unconscious. Last thing I saw was a large squirrel looking ship above me.

When I woke up, I saw them all around me. I looked out the nearby window to see where we

were. When I looked out, I saw a large snake type thing, about one hundred times bigger then

normal. I soon figured what happen. They had shrunk their ship into a normal size squirrel, so it

looked normal. I looked at the squirrel people and notice that they were fighting the snake. The

snake died and they brought the squirrel ship to a hole in the tree.

At the hole, I saw a large city type thing. This is what it looked like up close. I look just in time

to see the squirrel people hit a person into a volcano. I decided I should leave now. I hit the

guard who was near me, who happen to be half my size, and ran into the ship. I pressed all the

buttons and the squirrel went up into the sky and got big again. I was normal size again. With

no pilot in the ship, the squirrel ship went down into the tree, blowing it up. I decided to go in

side, and never go out again.
