Research Paper

The Greatest Invention Of The 1930’s is The Television.

Name something you see every day. It is something that entertains you. It is something that gives you current information every day. It is one of the basic things in every day life. It is the television.  Now, imagine life without it. What would you do if you went home and you didn’t have a TV? Life as we know it would come to an end. People couldn’t watch their favorite television shows, and the news if they wanted to. This is why the television is the most important invention of the 1930’s.

The television was a great invention, but not one person invented the television. John Logie Baird was just one of the many people who contributed to the invention of the television. John Logie Baird contributed by inventing the mechanical television system.

Baird was the youngest of four children; Baird was born on August 13(14), 1888 in Dundarion, Scotland to Jessie and Reverend John Baird. He died on June 14,1946 in Sussex, England. Bair went to school at Larchfeild Academy, and Royal Technical collage. Bair also studied electronic engineering at the University of Glasgow in addition Baird invention was accidental.

In the 1920’s, Baird and his partner, Clarenc W. Hansell, had the idea of the first mechanical television. The idea was to use rays of transparent rods to transmit images for the television. Baird also invented infra-red light, color, and stereoscopic television before the 1930’s. Also in 1930, the first British television play was transmitted. It was “The man with the flower in his mouth.”

The invention was important because we use the television almost every day for information and entertainment. The television led to many other inventions. The invention has a great influence on people today. Therefor to is a great way to advertise and make money. The television is also a great way to share information with million’s of people at once.

The television has changed people lives greatly. The television is how we get our information. The television is one of the fastest ways to get and receive information. Once the television was invented, people could stay home. At the same time, people could be aware of the events happening miles away from home.

People today are greatly affected by the invention of the television. We listen and are influenced by what we see and hear on the television. The television has become a great source of entertainment as well as means of getting information.

Five Spring And Summer Poems

Birds

Flying, climbing

Chirping, Singing, Running, Hopping

Humming softly on little branches,

Beautiful

The water glittering in the sun,

Pebbles skipping the surface,

Kids playing all around,

In the water and on the ground.

A dark summers eave,

Playing happily

Firer crackers in hand,

Wile the dance upon the sand.

Warm summer dresses twirling all about me,

On this beautiful and happy day.

For I am thankful,

For what is given to me.

The trees are waiving,

The flowers are smiling,

The birds are chirping,

And we are here looking,

At the beauty of it all.

Five Poems By Other Authors:

A Friend...
A friend is like a flower
A rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
That never comes unlatched
A friend is like an owl,
Both beautiful and wise
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
Whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like those blades of grass
You can never mow,
Standing straight, tall, and proud
In a perfect little row
Where would we be in this world
If we didn't have a friend.

Reality
Another tear falls, another life dies,
One person in love, the other telling lies
A heart that’s broken, a heart that’s healed
A child that’s hopeful, and one that’s real
Every sweet smile, tempts it
Every, glad glance, will see it
And they will forever be changed

Your name called out, my name forgotten
A sin unforgivable, the same forgiven
An man that’s a baby, a baby has to be a man
Rewarded for nothing, condemned for doing all that can
Every false word, will show it
Every strong love, knows it
Because its always there

My past let go, your past embraced
My future unknown, your future faced
A picture burned, a picture framed
One day soon that to will be the same
Every promise made, fears it
Every hopeful heart, hears it
But it never makes a sound

A hug returned, a hug refused
Your love appreciated, mine abused
A small heart grows, a big heart shrinks
I cannot speak, you will not think
Every "friend forever" can't understand it
Every fighting chance to ban it
Will never make a difference

-I'll be there-

*When no one is there for you*
*And you think no one cares*
*When the whole world walks out on you*
*And you think you're alone*
*I'll be there*
*When the one you care about the most*
*Could care less about you*
*When the one you gave your heart to*
*Throws it in your face*
*I'll be there*
*When the person you trusted*
*Betrays you*
*When the person you share all your memories with*
*Cant even remember your birthday*
*I'll be there*
*When all you need is a friend*
*To listen to you whine*
*When all you need is someone*
*To catch your tears*
*I'll be there*
* When your heart hurts so bad*
* You cant even breathe*
* When you just want to crawl up and die*
*I'll be there*
*When you start to cry*
*After hearing that sad song*
*When the tears just won't*
*Stop falling down*
*I'll be there*
*So you see I'll be there until the end*
*This is a promise I can make*
*If you ever need me*
*Just give me a call and...*
*I'll be there...*

Happily ever after

Happily ever after,
That's how they want you to think it will be,
But it's not,
Not at all in reality.
The deaths, the tears, the fears, the falls,
Through it all we still go on.
The broken hearts,
the cheating friends,
So much pain that never ends.
The fake smiles that seem to make everything ok,
But no for you, because you know the pain won't go away.
Bright and cheery, but oh so weary,
Because inside your heart is breaking in two.

The real me

Please don’t judge me by my face,
by my religion or my race.
Please don’t laugh at what I wear,
or how I look or do my hair.
Please look a little deeper,
way down deep inside.
And although you may not see it,
I have a lot to hide.
Behind my clothes the secrets lie,
behind my smile, I softly cry.
Please look a little deeper,
and maybe you will see.
The lonely little girl,
that lives inside of me.
Please listen carefully to her,
she'll show that she is insecure
Please try to be a friend to her,
and show her that you care.
Please just get to know her,
and maybe you will see.
That if you just look deep enough,
you'll find the real me.

~Asian Pride~
Asian pride is on my mind
Asian blood is in my kind
so step aside and let me through
cuz its all about the Asian crew
Asian love is all around
for my fellow Asians never let me down
so show your pride and say its true
cuz Asian genes can be in you

you're my friend

You're my friend

you helped me laugh
you dried my tears
because of you
I have no fears
together we live
together we grow
teaching each other
what we must know
you came in my life
and I was blessed
I love you friend
you are the best
release my hand
and say good-bye
please my friend
don't you cry
I promise you this
it's not the end
'cause like I said
you're my friend

Crazy

Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They aren't fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them. Disagree with them.
Glorify or Villify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do*

Graduation

*Graduation is the day i will not say good bye,
*Graduation is the day i turn away and cry,
*All these years together have drifted by too fast,
*Please don't forget anyone that doesn't belong in your past,
*Keep them all in your future, still there holding on,
*Keep them all near your heart, where their never gone...

What does Shazia mean?

Shazia

The name of Shazia creates a friendly, sociable, charming nature, but causes you to be too easily influenced by others. While you find it easy to meet and mix, and can appear agreeable and compromising in conversation, you can become dogmatic and forceful if pressed too far. Others learn that you cannot be told what to do and you seldom change your mind once it is made up. You prefer situations that allow a degree of independence, but are reluctant to take on a demanding workload or responsibility. In a position dealing with the public, you could do well because of your friendly personality, interest in people, and desire to please. When asked, you are able to give others good advice that you would probably not follow yourself, but must guard against being too opinionated in controversial matters.
